Elizabeth is a brilliant host and the cottage is full of charm and character. It is a beautiful and peaceful location from which we were able to visit many different places. On arrival Elizabeth had kindly left us a hamper and the cottage was very well equipped with everything required.

Lovely cottage in beautiful peaceful surroundings. Had everything you could need and a welcome pack was a lovely welcome extra. Elizabeth was very responsive and welcomed me on arrival. Great private garden for dogs and it was nice to be able to let my dog out without worrying about him escaping.

What a wonderful place to chill and relax. We booked this cottage as a break with our fearful reactive dog as it was away from people. Elizabeth was very helpful and understanding. We felt totally at home in the cottage. Elizabeth left a fantastic welcome pack for us which was really appreciated. We organised a Tesco delivery which was also great. Such a quiet location just sheep and birds to be heard. Elizabeth allowed us to walk our dog in her paddock which was great, he absolutely loved it. We have never seen our reactive boy so chilled out and relaxed. The cottage was really characterful and everything we needed was included, it was like a home from home. We look forward to visiting again soon. Thank you Elizabeth for your hospitality and understanding with Merlin - much appreciated.

We stayed for a week during a chilly spell in January and had a lovely cosy time here. There are some great walks around and about and we found plenty of interesting places to visit. Thank you Liz and John for your hospitality and for sharing your lovely place with us.

We returned for a second visit for a week at the end of April and we had such a lovely time and also a good rest - thank you Liz and John

The cottage itself was wonderful. Very traditional yet with everything we needed in terms of modern facilities. Very comfortable and the log burner was a real bonus. Fantastic walking from the door with the dogs and the little village of Caio within walking distance and it's forest was fascinating. A lovely walk also up to some of the treatment areas of the Dolaucothi mines, very atmospheric. Elizabeth was extremely friendly but equally wasn't intrusive and the welcome pack was great with pastries, jams, milk etc. So lovely and such good value! Thank you!

A warm welcome with the fire already lit. It's a picture perfect cottage in the Welsh countryside with the Caio forest a short walk way. Liz and John are just lovely. They couldn't have done more. They even found me a place to live long term.

Well...what can I say - AMAZING!!! A last minute, spur of the moment Easter booking for the school holidays. My son and I had an absolutely fab time. Elizabeth has been a wonderful host and the cottage is well-equipped, cosy, clean and homely. The welcome touches were superb too. Excellent location, great for kids, Newquay Beach only about 3/4 hour away. There is so much to do, the roads are brilliantly quiet and easy to navigate. To be able to open your window and just hear birds, sheep and wildlife is just so peaceful. A must-book again place for sure. Thank you Liz and John

We have just returned home from a wonderful stay at Brynhyfryd Cottage with our dog Willow. The cottage is really cosy and has all the provisions you could need and more. The garden is really secure for our dog and Elizabeth also let us use her paddock which Willow loved to run around. Asda delivery on our first morning worked really well for us. Dolaucothi Estate just down the road has some lovely walks and the local pub does a lovely homemade meal. So many places to visit including Dinefwr Castle, Llyn Brianne Dam and Reservoir and Brechfa Forest which is beautiful for a picnic. The cottage is in such a quiet and stunning location - highly recommended.

This is our second visit to Brynhyfryd Cottage and we enjoyed our stay equally as much as last year. It's a lovely cosy little cottage, very clean and comfortable and very thoughtfully stocked. The welcome hamper is lovely. Such a peaceful place to escape our normal busy lives. This time we have enjoyed gorgeous Sunday roast at the Dolaucothi Arms, a walk at beautiful Llyn Brianne, National Trust Dinefwr, seafood street food and ice creams in Aberaeron and numerous walks through the Dolaucothi Estate then the pub garden. Thank you Liz and John, it's been a real pleasure!

"We loved our stay at Brynhyfryd Cottage and would thoroughly recommend it to others. It was comfortable and well-maintained by the owners. It was clear that a lot of thought, care and love had gone into making it a special holiday home. The outlook from the bedroom was completely idyllic. Brynhyfryd Cottage is a very old cottage that has been cleverly converted by the owners. Everything has been thought of - torches, fresh coffee, milk, delicious biscuits, logs, flowers, tissues, lovely handmade soap and shampoo and the owners were on hand to offer advice on the area and help with anything that was needed. The living room was large and comfortable with a very effective wood burning stove. The sofa was extremely comfortable and there were also two good armchairs and a table and chairs. The bathroom was spacious and well equipped with everything we needed. The kitchen was perfect with lovely free-standing units, cupboards and dresser. This is a special cottage owned by really lovely people. Lucky you if you stay here!"
