Brynhyfryd Cottage is a former farmworkers dwelling dating back to the late 18th Century and is located on a small country lane on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Caio on the borders of Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion, West Wales.

Brynhyfryd Cottage is full of authentic charm and character having been completely restored by the current owners making full use of existing features such as original beams with bread oven and fireplace which now houses a cosy wood burning stove with comfortable sofas and pine table and chairs surrounding it.  The adjoining kitchen contains bespoke pine kitchen units which is fully equipped with just about everything you need to make your stay homely and comfortable. Guests will also be provided with a lovely welcome basket of local produce.

Brynhyfryd Cottage provides a relaxing and peaceful getaway in a beautiful countryside setting that is peaceful but not remote. It has easy access to both coast and country and the area has an abundance of visitor attractions to suit all tastes and interests. It is an ideal location for walking, cycling, horse-riding and fishing, all of which are available locally. The stunningly beautiful Cardigan Coast is just a half hour's drive away with it's numerous sandy beaches and pretty harbour towns and villages offering great places to eat and where dolpinins, porpoises and seals can often be spotted.

Brynhyfryd Cottage can sleep up to FOUR people and ONE INFANT (cot and high chair provided)

There is a Smart TV with FreeSat, DVD Player and free WiFi facilities.

A good supply of kiln-dried logs and firelighting equipment are also included.

At the other end of the cottage, the very well-equipped kitchen with modern appliances, traditional pine units and cupboards, a double Belfast sink and wooden worktops.

  • Full range of cooking equipment/utensils

The downstairs Shower Room just off the Kitchen area is fully tiled and has a large walk-in shower with drying area, toilet and wash basin, heated towel rail and plenty of storage.  There is a First Aid Kit in the bathroom cupboard.

Next to the Shower Room, there is a large under stairs storage cupboard with Ironing Board, Iron and Clothes Dryer.

Stairs lead off the living area to two eaves bedrooms, one with double bed and the other with two single beds.  Please note that both the bedrooms have low ceilings with dormer windows and sloping roof in keeping with the original character of the cottage.  There is a large storage cupboard with hanging space on the landing.  Each bedroom has a thermostatically controlled radiator.  The cupboard also contains a travel cot.  There are built-in wooden stair gates at the top and bottom of the stairs.

We Provide the Following:

  • All bed linen (excluding cot bedding - please bring your own if using the cot)

  • Cot, High Chair and Child Fireguard
  • Crockery, Cutlery and kitchen utensils
  • Tea, coffee (instant and ground), sugar, salt and pepper, milk
  • Washing up liquid and Dishwasher Tablets
  • Toilet paper, shower gel and shampoo and hand-made Welsh soap
  • A very generous Welcome pack and basket of Welsh produce
  • Supply of logs and fire lighting equipment

Outside there is a small private fully enclosed garden with patio area, lawn, storage shed and garden furniture. There is also a barbecue for use by guests. Private off-road parking for 2 cars.
