Brynhyfryd Cottage is a former farm worker’s dwelling, located on the edge of the picturesque village of Caio (Welsh spelling ‘Caeo’).
This spacious cottage is situated on the owners’ smallholding and has been sympathetically restored to retain much of its original character.
The original fireplace now has a wood-burning stove with adjacent bread oven which makes the cottage extremely cosy. The cottage is equipped to provide everything you would expect for comfortable modern-day living.
Whilst the peaceful location makes it the ideal get away, the cottage is far from remote. The Brunant Arms in Caio serves excellent food and the nearest shop is about 2.5 miles away on the A482 heading towards Lampeter. In Lampeter itself, you will find a Sainsburys and Coop.
The nearby Dolaucothi Arms in Pumsaint is worthy of a mention due to it being voted “Countryfile Best British Pub of 2019”. They serve great food with both traditional and Mediterranean menus.
Caio and Brechfa Forests make it a great location for walkers and cyclists. Horseriding and fishing are also available locally. There is easy access to the endless sandy beaches of the West Wales Coast with Aberaeron about 30 minutes drive away.
Why not visit in the Autumn when the crowds are gone and the weather is still good?
